CATERING ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION

All Saints Action Network (ASAN) is a charity and community business that works to improve the quality of life for people who live and work in the All Saints area of Wolverhampton.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced catering assistant to join the Workspace team running our take-away and in-house catering and Café.’ You will have worked in a kitchen position previously and need to be confident in the preparation of cold and hot meals and in baking quality cakes.
You need to have pride in your work as customer satisfaction is vital to us; serving customers and undertaking cleaning duties are part of the role as well as being responsible for purchasing food and ingredients.
The successful applicant will have a flexible approach to work and be keen to support us in our ambitions as we begin to develop our services.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
- Undertake food preparation for the café or catering,
- Menu Development, with a focus on local, seasonal, quality food
- Ensure attention to detail and presentation, planning and organisation
- Preparation and production of menu options
- Monitoring and controlling stock requirements and ordering, buying produce
- Supporting and training volunteers or others
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety and hygiene legislation
- Dealing with customers
- Ensure maintenance of clean, efficient and tidy kitchen area (or other areas of responsibility) at all times
- Maintain accurate records and complete daily check lists.
- Ensure you are committed to equal opportunities and other ASAN practices, policies and procedures.

Carrying out health and safety audits and risk assessments, as required by the ASAN Health and Safety Policy.

|Experience of working in a kitchen environment or similar||E|
|Experience of cooking for larger groups||E|
|Understanding of safe kitchen working practices and 5 star food rating||E|
|Good numeracy and literacy skills||E|
|Excellent communication skills||E|
|Experience of taking records of day-to-day work||E|
|Customer service experience||E|
|Willingness to undertake training and development||E|

|Knowledge of All Saints and Wolverhampton||D|
