Salary: £24,000
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week

This will initially be a 12 month appointment.
We are looking for a dynamic, driven individual who knows the importance of working with the community to understand their needs and helps develop solutions that improve lives.
You will be a team player with excellent inter-personal skills – working across the organisation and with external partners; highly organised and proficient at engaging with diverse groups through using a range of methods including digital communication and social media.
This is a rewarding and demanding role that will suit someone who is used to a varied programme of work.

- Job Purpose
All Saints Action Network (ASAN) is a community development trust established in 1995 as a partnership between people and organisations with an interest in making the All Saints neighbourhood in Wolverhampton a better place. Since the last 27 years ASAN has established several ground breaking community enterprises including in the areas of managed workspace, community nursery, sports facility and recycling. ASAN reinvests the surpluses generated by these enterprises to provide community services for people living and working in All Saints including a community recycling service, tool library, running community festivals and neighbourhood forums.
Community Outreach Officer (COO) will enable ASAN to deliver its mission and objectives in supporting the local community, developing community based solutions to neighbourhood challenges.
Key duties include:
- Rebuilding community use of the All Saints Community Centre (ASCC) and reinvigorate it as a Community Hub delivering services.
- Review provision and take- up of our community services such as Tool Library, community re-cycling service, volunteer gardening club etc. These activities enable local people to directly improve the local spaces that matter to them and aid their physical and mental wellbeing.
- Develop appropriate mechanisms to ensure details of ASAN members are properly recorded and updated and ASAN members are effectively communicated with.
- Actively support and where appropriate lead on ASAN events and activities.
- Encouraging and empowering people to cope better with life challenges, getting the right help at the right time, encouraging self-help to enable people to thrive and strengthen individual and community resilience.
- To scope and apply for funding and grants as directed by the Chief Officer and ASAN’s funding strategy.
- To utilise social media and digital solutions as a means for improving and growing community networks, sharing information and improving knowledge and communication of ASAN and its services.
- Brokering strong relationships with a range of organisations who could support ASAN’s community development aspirations and plans.
- Support the development of a volunteering strategy and enhance the numbers of volunteers actively engaged in ASAN’s enterprises and community projects.
- Working to a budget and maintaining appropriate financial controls and records
- Support the shaping of and delivery of ASAN’s community services ensuring that they meet community needs
- Work to actively promote and deliver ASAN’s community services, working to produce publicity materials, written reports for regular newsletters and to keep the ASAN website and social media feeds updated.
- Ensure the use of ASAN’s Impact Measurement System (social accounting and audit) is used to record the value of work carried. Developing and using impact measurement tools relevant to project needs.
- Ensuring the policies and procedures of the organisation including Health and Safety standards are adhered to.

Essential requirements:
- Experience of working to co-ordinate or deliver projects, activities or services within a professional setting
- Experience of Community Organising, Community Action, or Community Development
- Strong interpersonal skills at all levels with an ability to negotiate effectively across organisational boundaries
- An awareness and understanding Equal Opportunities, Data Protection and H&S
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple deadlines and manage administrative tasks
- Flexible and adaptable to new situations and able to motivate and inspire others
- Able to cope under pressure and accept responsibility to meet goals
- Willing and available to work outside usual office hours, including evenings and weekends
- Able to relate to individuals, groups and organisations in a variety of different
circumstances
- Be proficient in IT skills – Microsoft Office and social media
